DEVELOPMENT PLAN IN THE NEUQUEN BASIN
Pan American Energy
Pan American Energy (PAE) presented its 2023 development plan in the Neuquen basin, which involves drilling 12 wells in Lindero Atravesado, 10 in Aguada Pichana Oeste, 6 in Coirón Amargo Sur Este (CASE) and 2 in Aguada de Cánepa. Their development plan until 2050 involves a series of surface works and pipelines, where they plan to invest more than US $200 M. A total of 175 wells are expected to be drilled in Lindero Atravesado by 2049 and US $24 M invested by 2024 in treatment plants, batteries and pipelines. At CASE, the projection reaches 246 wells until 2050 and 94 in Aguada de Cánepa in the same period. In the Aguada Pichana Oeste and Aguada de Castro blocks, 452 wells will be drilled and put into production by 2050.
ARGENTINA LNG PROCESSING TERMINAL
YPF and Petronas
In March 2023, YPF and Petronas announced that they had signed a tentative land lease deal for the proposed processing terminal with the port of Bahía Blanca. A decision on whether to proceed with a long-term concession agreement was to be contingent on technical, economic, maritime, soil, and environmental evaluations to be carried out by the two companies. The comprehensive project includes gas extraction in Vaca Muerta, transportation through a 620-kilometer pipeline to the processing terminal, and industrialization. The port of Bahia Blanca estimated that total investment in the project could rise as high as US$ 50 Bn.
DUPLICAR PLUS PROJECT
Oldeval
The Duplicar Plus project has an estimated cost of US$ 1.2 B and comprises the installation of a pipeline, with its respective pumping stations and additional works, of about 525 kilometers, extending from the Pumping Station in Allen, province of Río Negro, to Puerto Rosales, in the province of Buenos Aires. The objective is to permanently increase the oil transportation capacity from the current 36,000 m³ to 86,000 m³ per day.
